This morning, Grand Rapids woke up shrouded in a thick fog, the kind that makes you feel like you’ve wandered into a Dickens novel. The temperature’s a mild 65 degrees, but don't let that fool you – things are about to change drastically.

The good news is that fog is expected to lift, revealing a partly cloudy morning. However, the afternoon brings a mostly cloudy sky and a nagging 16% chance of rain. But the real story unfolds this evening.

We’re looking at a strong storm system rolling in, bringing with it a 92% chance of rain and a very likely risk of severe weather. That's right, folks, we need to be prepared. The National Weather Service is warning of damaging winds and potentially large hail. Let’s hope those “experts” are wrong, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Overnight, thankfully, the skies are predicted to clear, offering a brief respite from this unpleasantness.
