Games Used To Be Different!

Games Have Changed A LOT! - By Jerome Skinly, Age 7!

Hi everybody! It's Jerome! I like games! My dad tells me about old games, and they were really different. I lerned a bunch!

Games started a long, long time ago, like when my grandpa was a little boy. They had big machines in places like the store – they called them “arcades!” Then, people got machines for their houses, called “consoles.” It was mostly boys playing then.

Then, things got really cool! The computers got better, and people could play together online! Games like “Quake” and “World of Warcraft” let you play with your friends! It was like a big club, but in the computer!

Then, phones came! My mom has a phone, and you can play games on it! Games like “Angry Birds” and “Candy Crush” are easy to play. Lots of people play them, even grown-ups! It’s so fun! They even let you buy things in the game, but sometimes it costs money.

Now, people watch other people play games! It’s called “Let’s Play” and it’s super popular. Sometimes I watch! And people play games to be really good, like a sport! They’re called “Esports.” There's lots of money for winning!

My dad says games have changed a lot. They used to be for boys mostly, now everybody plays! And you can play with your friends, or watch people play, or even be a game player! It’s so amazing how much things changed!
