MOM'S DESK WAS YUCKY NOW IT'S NICE!

My Desk Was a BIG Mess! (But Now It’s Not!)

Hi! I’m Jerome Skinly and I’m seven. My mom works at home, and her desk… wow. It was SO messy! Papers EVERYWHERE. Pens hiding. Even old phone chargers! She said she wanted to get it fixed, so I helped!

First, we took everything off the desk. Like, ALL of it. It made a giant pile on the floor! Then we sorted it. We had a pile for pens and pencils, a pile for papers, and a pile for… stuff. Like little gadgets and cords.

Mom said we had to throw some things away. Old drawings (not mine!), broken pens, and even a really old phone she doesn't use anymore. We had to save the pictures on the phone first though! That was the important part. And some books she already read.

Then came the fun part – putting things back! We got these little drawers for the pens and pencils so you can see them. Mom got a closet thing for all the cords so they didn't get tangled. She said she saw these ideas for 2025 and wanted to try them! She has big drawers for papers, and a special spot on her desk for the stuff she’s working on right now.

We put shelves ALL the way up to the ceiling! That’s because we don't have a lot of room. She got a desk that goes up and down so she can stand sometimes. It's cool!

Mom also used labels. Little stickers! On the folders and bins. So she knows what's inside without even looking! She said it's good to write what's inside, so you don't have to guess.

She even put up some pictures! And a little plant! It makes her office look nice and not just… work-y. She said she wants it to be a happy place for 2026.

Now her desk isn't a BIG mess anymore! It's still a desk, but you can actually see the desk. And Mom can find her pens! I helped a lot, and she said I was a super organizer. I think I like organizing! Maybe I'll help with my room next. If I can get her to help me with the throwing away part… that's the hardest part!
