Gaming is SO COOL! Let's Learn About It!

Hi everybody! It’s Jerome Skinly here, and I’m gonna tell you about games! Games have been around for a long, long time! My grandpa says he used to play games in big boxes with buttons! They were arcade games!

Games Used to Be Different!

A long time ago, games were in boxes for your TV! Then, computers got games! And then, games went on the internet! That's when people could play with other people! Games like Quake and World of Warcraft were super popular then. But sometimes, people were mean to each other in those games. They needed helpers to make sure everyone was nice!

Now Games are on Phones!

Then, something really cool happened! Games went on phones! That's how I play a lot! Games like Angry Birds and Candy Crush are fun! They're often “free” but sometimes you have to pay for little extras. That's called “freemium.” My mom says it’s tricky!

Watching Games is FUN Too!

Guess what? A lot of people like to watch other people play games! It’s like watching TV, but it’s someone playing! People play games like League of Legends and Dota 2 and they are really good! And people watch them! Some people make videos about games and they’re famous! They make lots of people want to play those games!

Girls Play Games Too!

It’s cool because lots of girls like games now too! Games on phones made it easy for everyone to play.

Sometimes People Are Not Nice.

Sometimes, when people play games with other people, they aren't always nice. Grown-ups are trying to fix that so everyone can have fun.

Games Will Keep Getting Better!

My dad says games will keep getting bigger and better! More people will play, and more people will watch. And maybe one day, I will be a famous gamer!
