Cars That Go "Beep! Beep!" – A Long, Long Time Ago!
By Jerome Skinly, Jape News Reporter!
Hi everybody! I lerned about cars today! Not just any cars, but electric cars! My teacher, Miss Lily, said they’s been around a long, long time. Like, even before my grandpa was born!
It’s true! Back in the 1800s and 1900s, lots of cars were electric! Miss Lily showed me a picture of a car called an "Electrobat." It looked kinda funny, like a horseless carriage but with wires! People liked them because they didn’t make so much noise. They’s quiet! And easy to drive, she said.
But then… Ford made a car called the Model T. It was cheap, and it ran on gas. And gas got cheaper too! So everybody wanted those gas cars instead of the electric ones. Electric cars went sleepy for a long time.
Then, in the 1970s, there was no gas! People got worried. So they thought about electric cars again! But they still weren’t super good.
Then, Toyota made a car that was a little bit electric and a little bit gas! It was called the Prius! It was cool! And then came cars like Tesla and Nissan Leaf! These cars plug into the wall to get power!
Now, electric cars are coming back! My dad says they’s good for the Earth! Gas cars make smoke, and that’s not good. Electric cars don’t!
The government is helping too! They give you money if you buy an electric car! It's like a reward for being good to the Earth.
Miss Lily says the cars of the future will be electric and maybe even powered by the sun! That would be super cool!
So, electric cars didn’t just start now. They’s been around! And they're coming back to beep! beep! around!
[Picture of an Electrobat and a Tesla would go here – if I knew how!]
