BIG MONSTER SLEEPING! It’s Cthulhu!

Cthulhu! A Big, Sleepy Monster!

Hi! I'm Jerome! And I learned about a really big monster! His name is Cthulhu! It's a hard name to say! My mommy says it’s from a made-up language.

Cthulhu lives way, way down deep in the ocean! Like, really deep! He sleeps in a place called R'lyeh. It’s a city made of stone, and it’s under the water! Sometimes, when the stars line up just right, the city comes up a little bit!

He’s not a friendly monster. He’s a cosmic monster. That means he's from outer space, kinda! He’s got a monster head like an octopus, and big, strong arms. And wings! But he mostly sleeps.

People say if you see Cthulhu, you might go a little bit crazy. Because he's so big and so different. Mommy says it’s because he's older than everything we know! Like, really old! Older than dinosaurs!

He’s a scary monster, but he’s also kinda cool! My favorite part is that he sleeps under the ocean. Imagine a giant octopus-man sleeping under the sea! Wow!

I drew a picture of him! He’s green and has lots of tentacles! Maybe you can draw him too! Just be careful, because he might wake up!
