A Sad Discovery at the Quick Stop

It’s… well, it’s just awful, really. Here at Jape News, we try to focus on the good things happening in our community, but sometimes we have to report on things that are just deeply upsetting. And this is one of those times.

Yesterday, police were called to the Quick Stop gas station on Elm Street after a truly disturbing discovery. A woman’s body was found inside a garbage can behind the store.

Police have identified the victim as Dominique Michelle Palmero Pohl. They’ve made an arrest in connection with her death – a man named Antonio Mark Celey, Jr. Apparently, they knew each other, and police say there was some kind of dispute between them. I don't like to speculate, but disagreements can get out of hand, you know? It's just… sad.

The Quick Stop is a pretty busy place, lots of people stop there for gas and snacks. It's hard to imagine something like this happening right in our neighborhood. I spoke to a few people who were there yesterday, and they were understandably shaken up. One woman said she used to see Ms. Pohl sometimes, grabbing a coffee. She said she was always polite.

Police are continuing their investigation, and I’m sure they’ll share more details as they become available. Right now, though, it’s just a really sad time for everyone involved, and our thoughts are with Ms. Pohl's family and friends. It just feels… wrong.
