It's A Bit Rainy, So Please Be Careful Out There.

A Damp Day in Grand Rapids

Well, folks, it’s…wet out there. Really wet. I just walked back from getting a coffee, and let me tell you, the wind is something. They’re saying southwest winds around 18 miles per hour, with gusts up to 38! I almost lost my hat, and I was really glad I remembered to wear it.

The weather service says we’re looking at showers and thunderstorms all day, and honestly, they weren’t kidding. It started drizzling pretty early this morning, and it hasn’t really let up. I saw a few flashes of lightning on the way back, but nothing too dramatic, thankfully.

They’re predicting the heaviest stuff will roll in tonight, which…sounds lovely. Just what everyone wants after a long day. Hopefully, it won’t be too bad. The forecast says maybe a tenth to a quarter of an inch of rain, but possibly more if we get some particularly strong thunderstorms.

It’s not super cold, thankfully. The high is supposed to be near 57 degrees, but with the wind and the rain, it definitely feels a little chilly. I think I'll be sticking to indoor activities today, to be honest. Maybe a good book and a warm drink?

If you do have to go out, please be careful. Drive slowly, watch out for puddles, and maybe bring an umbrella. And definitely hold onto your hat! You can find more detailed information on the weather from the National Weather Service website, or WZZM 13's weather page. Just…stay safe, everyone.
