Rain Today—Please Be Careful Everyone

A Soggy Saturday in Grand Rapids

Well, folks, if you had plans to be out today, you might want to reconsider. It’s…wet. Really wet. I stepped outside just a few minutes ago to grab my coffee, and let me tell you, it’s coming down.

The forecast says showers are likely throughout the day, and honestly, they aren't kidding. They’re even saying there could be a thunderstorm before one o'clock. I really hope not, those are a bit startling, aren't they? I always feel bad for the pets when it thunders.

It's not just a light drizzle either. They're predicting between three-quarters and a full inch of rain. That’s… a lot of rain. The wind is picking up too, blowing from the southeast right now at about 11 to 14 miles per hour. It’s supposed to shift to the southwest later with some gusts up to 29 mph. So, you know, hold onto your hats. If you have a hat. I don’t, personally.

It’s pretty gloomy out there, to be honest. The temperature is currently around 63, but it feels cooler with all the moisture.

Looking ahead, it doesn’t exactly get better immediately. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and cold – down to around 35 degrees. Brr! But the good news is, Sunday is supposed to be at least partly sunny, though still chilly. They’re saying a high of only 45.

Monday and Tuesday look a bit mixed, with chances of more showers, but Wednesday… Wednesday is looking up! They're predicting sunshine and a high near 60. Hopefully that actually happens. We could all use a nice, sunny day, couldn't we?

Anyway, stay dry out there, everyone. Maybe a good day to curl up with a book or… well, just stay inside, really. I think I will.
