Weather's Just…Kind of All Over the Place Today, Isn't It?

A Bit of Everything Today, Folks

Well, good morning everyone. Leo Parks here, with your local weather update. It’s… certainly a day, isn’t it? Seems like we’re getting a little bit of everything happening across the country.

The big story, it looks like, is this heat wave. Almost 180 cities have broken records for March temperatures – that’s pretty incredible, and hopefully everyone’s staying hydrated. It’s nice to have warmer weather, of course, but that’s a lot of records.

Here in Grand Rapids, it's a bit more… complicated. We've got wind, and the humidity is up, so it doesn’t feel quite as warm as some places. The air quality seems okay, thankfully.

But the real wild stuff is happening over in Chicago. They're expecting thunderstorms, with a 100% chance of rain. One hundred percent! And it’s going to be chilly, too – a high of 51 and a low of 29. That’s a pretty big swing. Winds are pretty strong there as well, over 20 miles per hour.

Honestly, it’s a little scary hearing about the possibility of tornadoes in the Midwest. I just hope everyone stays safe and listens to the local authorities.

The Weather Channel has been doing a really good job lately, apparently. They’ve been named the most accurate forecaster for the last few years, so it's good to know someone’s keeping a close eye on all this. You can always check them out at weather.com for the very latest.

So, if you’re in Chicago, stay inside if you can. If you're here in Grand Rapids, maybe pack an umbrella just in case, and definitely stay hydrated. And wherever you are, just… be careful out there, okay? It’s a bit of a crazy day.
