Weather's Just…Happening, Everyone.

A Bit of Everything Today, Folks

Hi everyone, Leo Parks here. Well, it’s certainly…a day out there. I just got back inside and, wow. It really feels like Michigan is trying to experience all four seasons in about twelve hours.

Here in Grand Rapids, specifically Heartside, we started the day with pretty standard cloudy, rainy weather. You know, the kind of day where you just want to curl up with a good book. But then, things got a little more exciting – or concerning, depending on how you look at it. The afternoon brought scattered thunderstorms. I saw a couple of pretty big flashes while I was walking to get coffee, and honestly, I sped up my pace a bit.

And it’s not just us! The National Weather Service is saying there’s a pretty active weather pattern across the whole eastern half of the country. Up in the northern Plains and the Upper Peninsula they're getting serious winter weather, while further south they’re dealing with potential tornadoes. Yikes.

Even Roseville is getting in on the action, though the reports from there are a little less specific. They’re mostly talking about the wind and humidity, and things like air quality and UV index. Sounds…intense.

The high today here is supposed to be around 59 degrees, with winds coming from the east-southeast at 10-20 mph. So, definitely a breezy, damp day. Honestly, I'm just hoping everyone stays safe out there. Maybe it's a good day to just stay inside and wait for it all to blow over? Just a thought.

Anyway, that's the weather for today. Stay dry, everyone! And maybe keep an eye on those storm warnings.
