Nice Day, But Maybe Check the Weather Later?

A Pleasant, But Potentially Stormy, Afternoon in Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids is enjoying a relatively mild day today, with partly cloudy skies and a comfortable 64 degrees. It’s certainly a welcome change from some of the colder stretches we’ve had lately, and a lot of people are out and about downtown enjoying the sunshine. I saw quite a few folks grabbing coffee, and the parks seemed pretty full at lunchtime.

The breeze is coming from the west at about 8 miles per hour, which is nice - not too strong, not too weak. Humidity is around 60%, so it doesn't feel too muggy, though it’s not exactly dry air either.

Now, the weather reports are saying we should keep an eye on things this afternoon. There's a slight risk of some isolated severe storms developing near and south of I-94. Nothing major is expected in Grand Rapids, thankfully, but it's good to be aware, just in case. The hourly forecast shows we're looking at a high of around 65 degrees this afternoon, so it should stay pretty pleasant, even with the possibility of thunderstorms nearby.

I think everyone should just enjoy the nice weather while it lasts, and maybe check the radar before heading home just to be safe. You know, better safe than sorry!
