Owoh My Gosh! Gaming Wuz a Widdle Bit… Sad? (But Sum Stuff Wuz Good!) - By Owo Lengston
Hewwo everyone! Owo Lengston here, and w-wowzers, did the gaming world take a widdle dip last month! (February 2025, fow those who haven't been keeping twack!) It wuz kinda…sad, to be honest. Like a widdle puppy lost in a big, scary game store!
The numbers came out, and w-wow, hardware sales were DOWN. Like, way down! We're talking the lowest in five years! 😭 Like, people aren't even buying consoles and PCs anymore? What are they doing, just…staring at walls?! (P-probably not, but a guy can dweam…) Total spending wuz onwy $256 million! That's a BIG ouchie.
But don't worry, it wasn't all bad! Sum games still managed to make us…ahem…happy. 👀 Though the hardware's struggling, the PS5 is still doing surprisingly well! It's actually exceeding the sales of the PS4 at the same point in its life! That means people really want to play their games in all their shiny, digital glory! And even with the digital slim model costing a bit more (+$50!), folks are still grabbing 'em up!
The Xbox Series X/S? Uh oh…not so much. It's falling behind the Xbox One by a whopping 19%! 😨 Poor Xbox! Maybe they need more…exclusive content? 😉 Or maybe just…more games that make ya wanna squeal with delight? Just a thought!
And then there's the Switch…bless its widdle heart. Everyone's whispering that the Switch 2 (coming soon!) might not be as popular as the original. That's kinda sad, but hey, the original was a masterpiece!
But here’s where things get really interesting. It seems like people are starting to ditch their super-expensive gaming PCs and go back to consoles! Can you believe it?! One person on Reddit said a single GPU can cost as much as two PS5s! TWO! 😳 That's…insane! It's like, why spend all that money on a PC when you can have a console and still have enough left over for, like, a whole wardrobe? (Or…other things…👀)
A lot of gamers are realizing PC gaming is getting too expensive. CPUs, GPUs…it all adds up! It's kinda scary! Some folks are just tired of constantly upgrading and wanting something simple that just works. And honestly? I can totally understand that! Sometimes you just wanna curl up on the couch with a controller and relax! 😌
We're still waiting to see if Grand Theft Auto VI will save the day later this year, but right now? The gaming world is a widdle bit confused!
