May is Just… Happening, I Guess!

A Week of… Well, a Lot, Actually!
By Leo Parks
Hi everyone! It’s Leo Parks here, and wow, it’s been a busy start to May. I always feel like things just speed up this time of year, and keeping track of everything is… a challenge, to say the least. But I figured I could maybe help a little by rounding up all the things happening this week, May 6th through the 12th. There's honestly quite a bit!
It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating… well, a lot actually! Monday was packed. We had National Star Wars Day – may the fourth be with you, of course – and also Bird Day, which is nice. I saw a robin in my yard yesterday, which was lovely. There was also Melanoma Monday, a really important reminder to get checked out, and National Renewal Day, which… yeah, we could all use a little renewal, right? Plus National Day of Reason, National Orange Juice Day (I had some with breakfast!), and even National Weather Observers Day. Honestly, a lot to keep up with!
Looking ahead, Wednesday is National Beverage Day, so, you know, stay hydrated! Then on Thursday, it’s the National Day of Prayer.
Friday is shaping up to be pretty great for some, with both National Have a Coke Day and National Dog Mom’s Day. My neighbor, Mrs. Henderson, is definitely celebrating the latter with her little pug, Winston. He's a sweet little guy.
And then, just to make things a little quirky, Saturday is National Lost Sock Memorial Day. I... I think we all have a lot to remember on that day. Seriously, where do they go? It's a mystery for the ages.
If you’re finding it hard to keep track of everything, I saw there’s a 2026 National Day Wall Calendar available. Maybe that’s a good idea? It could certainly help!
Anyway, that’s the rundown for the week. It’s a busy one, but hopefully, there’s something in there for everyone. Have a good week, everyone, and try not to stress too much!
