Oh, Gosh, I Think I Misplaced Something.

Oh, Dear. Where Did They Go?
It happened again. Just…vanished. I swear, I had them a moment ago. I was coming in from grabbing a coffee – just a quick run to Brew & Bites, really – and I distinctly remember unlocking the door. And now? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
It’s a truly unsettling feeling, isn’t it? That little flutter of panic in your chest when your hand instinctively reaches for something that isn’t there. I’ve patted all my pockets – twice. Checked my bag. Even looked inside my bag, thinking maybe they somehow… burrowed in? No luck.
Honestly, I’m usually pretty careful. I try to be, anyway. I tell myself I’m going to put them on the little hook by the door, every single time. But then life happens, you’re juggling your coffee and your phone and… well, you can probably picture it.
I’ve retraced my steps, of course. Back through the kitchen, past the living room. I even peeked under the sofa cushions – you never know! It’s amazing what things can disappear into those fluffy depths. Still nothing.
It’s not just the inconvenience, you know? It’s the feeling of being… vulnerable. Anyone could, theoretically, have access. I really should get a spare key made, and give it to Mrs. Henderson next door. She's always been so kind. I've been meaning to for months, really. This is probably a good kick in the pants to finally do it.
I’m starting to think I might have to call a locksmith. That’s… expensive. And a little embarrassing. I’m really hoping they turn up. Maybe they’re under a magazine? Or… inside the refrigerator? It’s happened before, you know. It's a weird place for keys, but... it happens.
I’m going to do one more thorough search. Wish me luck. And seriously, if you see a set of keys wandering around, please, please let me know. It would be a huge relief. I really don’t want to have to change the locks. That would just be… a whole thing.
