A Damp Day in the Rapids

Well, folks, it’s…wet out there. Really wet. I just ran down to get a coffee and, wow, definitely needed the umbrella. Seems like everyone else thought of that too – the sidewalks are pretty crowded, and everyone’s kind of huddled together, you know? Trying to stay dry.

The forecast is saying we’ve got a 93% chance of precipitation here in Heartside, and honestly? I believe it. It’s not just a little drizzle either. There was some thunder rumbling a bit ago, and I think I even saw a flash of lightning. Downtown seems to be getting it just as bad, though they said it might clear up a little after this morning. I hope so!

It’s not terribly cold, thankfully. Around 59 degrees, which isn’t bad, but with the wind – it’s coming from the east-southeast at 10 to 20 miles per hour, apparently – it definitely feels a lot cooler when you step outside.

The Weather Channel says they’re the most accurate, and, well, I guess we’ll see! They’ve been pretty good the last few years, so I’m inclined to trust them. It's just...a good day to stay inside with a warm drink, if you can. Everyone be careful out there, okay? And maybe bring a friend! Misery loves company, and all that.
