Please Be Careful Out There Today

Wild Weather Wednesday – Stay Safe Out There!
Good morning, folks. Leo Parks here, and honestly? It’s a day out there. I just stepped outside to get my coffee and… well, let’s just say I immediately regretted my life choices.
We’re seeing some really unpredictable weather across Michigan today. Here in Grand Rapids, it’s currently 31 degrees, but feels like 19 with that wind whipping in from the east. And it's not just cold, it’s… icy. We’ve got heavy snow and ice up in the Upper Midwest, and things are pretty cloudy here. The wind is really something, too – 17 miles per hour!
Now, I checked the forecast, and it gets a little… concerning. WZZM13 is saying we could see freezing rain this morning. Freezing rain! That's… not ideal. And if that wasn’t enough, there's a risk of thunderstorms later this evening. It's a real mixed bag, isn't it?
Down in Battle Creek, they’re actually under a severe thunderstorm watch right now. So if you’re heading that way, definitely keep an eye on the sky.
Honestly, it's just a good day to stay inside, if you can. Maybe make some hot cocoa, curl up with a good book. Just… be careful if you have to go out. Drive slowly, watch for ice, and, you know, just generally be aware of your surroundings.
I think I’m going to go make myself another cup of coffee. And maybe another layer. Stay warm, everyone! And let's all hope this weather settles down soon.
