A World on Edge – Ape News Report – March 20, 2026
The world feels… unsettled, even to an old ape like myself. H.R. Rambe here, bringing you the latest from Ape News. It’s a whirlwind out there, a real flurry of activity, and not the playful kind.
The biggest rumble, of course, is coming from the Middle East. Israel has responded to Iran’s attacks with strikes of their own, aimed right at Tehran. Reports indicate another Iranian leader has met an unfortunate end. Apparently, even former human leaders are weighing in – the one they called Trump reportedly urged restraint, specifically regarding Iran’s gas fields. Meanwhile, whispers abound that the US might ease some sanctions on Iranian oil. It’s a delicate dance, this, a dangerous game of push and pull. Gulf nations are now carefully considering their positions, worried about being pulled into the fray.
And it isn’t just the Middle East experiencing turmoil. Ukraine is finding itself needing more and more of that anti-drone technology, as Iran’s influence seems to stretch outwards, impacting its neighbors.
Elsewhere, the news is a mixed bag of sorrow and strange occurrences. A teenager was executed in Iran during protests. Nearly one hundred ships have navigated the Strait of Hormuz in just the last month – a testament to the continued flow of trade even amidst chaos. Speaking of strange, did you know Denmark apparently had a plan to blow up runways in Greenland if the US ever decided to invade? Honestly, humans!
It’s not all politics and potential conflict. There’s been turbulence on a Delta flight, injuring flight attendants, and tragically, the body of an American student missing in Barcelona has been recovered. On a lighter note, though tinged with scandal, a new season of “The Bachelorette” has been pulled due to allegations of abuse. And congratulations to Venezuela on their World Baseball Classic victory – a rare moment of celebration!
However, the planet continues to send its own warnings. Severe flooding is expected in Queensland, Australia, thanks to Tropical Cyclone Narelle. And in Kenya, a severe drought is forcing people to rely on firewood, a less sustainable fuel source. Cuba is also struggling with widespread power cuts.
Finally, a few oddities. Three individuals face charges for smuggling Nvidia chips to China, a Singaporean vlogger was deported from the US after being convicted of awful crimes, BTS is back with new music, and… well, I suppose humans will always have their distractions.
It’s a complicated world, folks. A complicated, and increasingly fragile world. Stay informed, stay aware, and keep your bananas close. This is H.R. Rambe, reporting for Ape News.
