A Busy Week Ahead: Holidays and Observances to Keep in Mind

Hello everyone, Leo Parks here with a quick look at what’s happening this week! It feels like there’s a lot going on, honestly, which is… good! Keeps things interesting, you know?

It’s a bit of a mix of everything this week. Today, April 13th, many are observing Orthodox Easter Monday, and it's also Thomas Jefferson's Birthday – a pretty important founding father. It’s nice to remember those things.

Tomorrow, April 14th, is a very important day for remembrance, Yom HaShoah, a Jewish day of commemoration. Also, the UN is observing World Chagas Disease Day, which… sounds serious. Definitely good to be aware of health concerns, I suppose.

Things keep rolling on April 15th with World Art Day! That sounds fun, and creative. It's also Tax Day here in the US – not exactly fun, but…necessary. And in Hawaii, they’re celebrating Father Damien Day.

Then on the 16th it’s Emancipation Day in Washington D.C. – a really significant day for a lot of people, and it’s good to acknowledge that.

April 17th sees Arbor Day celebrated as a state observance in Colorado. Planting trees is…good for the environment, which is also good.

And things really pick up on the 18th! International Day for Monuments and Sites is observed worldwide, and Patriots’ Day is a state holiday in Maine and Massachusetts. Plus, the Boston Marathon is happening! I always worry about the runners, but it's impressive, honestly.

The rest of the week is just as packed, with everything from Chinese Language Day on the 20th, to Earth Day and Yom Ha'atzmaut on the 22nd. There’s even Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on the 23rd! That sounds…nice? Hopefully it doesn’t disrupt things too much.

And finally, Michigan seems to have a lot of local festivals and events happening too, if you're in the area.

It’s a lot to keep track of, I know, but it's nice to be aware of what’s going on around us. Have a good week, everyone! And try not to stress too much about taxes.
