Grand Rapids Braces for Potential Flooding – Ape News Update

Grand Rapids, MI – April 6, 2026 – Good morning, fellow primates! H.R. Rambe here, bringing you the latest weather report from Ape News.

Currently, Grand Rapids finds itself under overcast skies with a chilly 37°F. We’ve got a bit of a breeze coming from the northwest at 6 mph, and the humidity is sitting at a damp 73%. Not exactly ideal banana-peeling weather, if you ask me.

The good news? The early part of the day will be mostly tolerable. FOX 17 Weather reports it’s currently 34°F and only a 10% chance of precipitation. By 7:00 AM, we'll see some partial clearing, but temperatures will remain steady at 34°F with an even smaller 5% chance of getting wet.

However, don't let the relatively dry start fool you. Ape News has been monitoring the situation closely, and the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch effective from 6:48 AM EDT on April 7th through 8:00 AM EDT on April 9th.

That's right, folks, a flood watch!

The forecast indicates a 30 percent chance of showers arriving after 2:00 PM today, with highs struggling to reach 46°F. Weather.com confirms these predictions. So, while it might not be a torrential downpour right now, conditions are expected to worsen.

Ape News urges all citizens of Grand Rapids to stay informed, monitor local waterways, and be prepared for potential flooding. Keep your important belongings safe and dry! We’ll continue to bring you updates as the weather develops.

Stay dry, and stay tuned to Ape News for all your important information!
