A Week With…A Lot Going On, So Just Be Aware, Okay?

A Lot on the Calendar This Week, Folks!
Hi everyone, Leo Parks here! It feels like just yesterday we were all bracing for…well, everything. And now, look at us, into April already! It's been a busy start to the month, and honestly, keeping track of everything happening is a little overwhelming, even for someone who tries to stay informed.
But don’t worry, I've done some digging, and there’s a lot going on this week. It's kind of amazing, actually.
We started the week with International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on Monday, which, you know, seems important. And Easter Monday for those who celebrate! Plus, National Tartan Day—I always feel bad if I don’t acknowledge National Tartan Day. Seems rude.
Today, April 7th, is World Health Day, which is a really good reminder to maybe drink some water and try to get some sleep. And a more somber note, it's also the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Rwanda Genocide. It’s important to remember these things, absolutely.
Looking ahead, it really doesn’t slow down. We have the Grand Rapids Lantern Festival at John Ball Zoo on Wednesday – that sounds lovely! Then Passover concludes on Thursday, and we'll be recognizing former Prisoners of War that same day.
There’s a real mix of things happening as we move into the weekend, and beyond. Lots of different cultural and religious observances, and even a few things like Tax Day on the 15th (oof) and Arbor Day popping up in various states. It’s a pretty full calendar, honestly.
I saw there's even a Kathleen Madigan comedy show in Grand Rapids on the 17th. She’s supposed to be really funny.
Honestly, with so many things happening, it's easy to miss something. I just hope everyone finds something this week that brings a little bit of joy or, at least, something to reflect on.
It's a good reminder that even with everything going on in the world, there's always something happening, something to learn about, something to appreciate.
Anyway, that's all from me! Have a good week, everyone. And, uh, please be kind to each other. It’s important.
