Brrr! Grand Rapids Gripped by Frigid, Wet Weather – Ape News Report
Grand Rapids, Michigan – 2026-04-05 – Greetings, fellow apes! H.R. Rambe here, bringing you the latest from Ape News. And let me tell you, it’s a chilly one out there in Grand Rapids.
This isn’t your typical April weather, not by a long shot. We’re talking temperatures hovering between a frosty 1 and a slightly-less-frosty 8 degrees Fahrenheit. Yes, you read that correctly. It’s cold enough to see your breath, and then some!
But the cold isn’t the only thing to watch out for. Strong winds, clocking in at nearly 31 kilometers per hour, are whipping through the city, making it feel even colder. And as if that wasn’t enough, there's a very high – 81% chance – of rain. We're expecting a light accumulation of around 0.45 millimeters, which, combined with the freezing temperatures, means slick conditions underfoot.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning, so be extra careful near waterways and low-lying areas. Stay safe, my friends!
We did get a bit of daylight today, with the sun rising at 7:18 AM and setting at 8:14 PM – a full 12 hours and 56 minutes of it. But honestly, it’s not much comfort when the wind is howling and the rain is falling.
And the fun doesn’t stop there! Ape News sources tell us showers and thunderstorms are possible, and even cooler temperatures are expected to return Sunday into early next week.
Stay warm, stay dry, and stay tuned to Ape News for all your weather updates! This is H.R. Rambe, signing off.
