A Sad Discovery at the Q-Mart

It’s… well, it’s just a really sad situation, honestly. I’m Leo Parks, and I’m reporting on a truly difficult story out of Columbia. This past April, on the 11th, police responded to a call at a Q-Mart convenience store. They found a woman… inside a garbage can behind the building.

It happened shortly before 10 a.m., and authorities are still investigating. They’re talking to a man who might have some information about what happened, but things are still pretty unclear. It’s a tragedy, of course, and my heart goes out to anyone who knew her.

And, uh, sadly, it’s not an isolated incident. Just yesterday, news broke about a similar case in Fullerton, California. A 25-year-old woman was arrested after a newborn baby was found in a trash can at a gas station. That’s… that’s really awful. She’s facing charges of attempted murder and child abuse.

I just… I don't really know what to say. It's all just really upsetting. It just feels like things are… difficult right now. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about the investigation here in Columbia, and offer our thoughts to everyone affected by both of these incredibly sad events.
