Michigan Weather: Finally, Some Sanity Restored!

A Return to Normalcy, Finally!
Folks, can I just say – hallelujah! After what felt like an eternity of brutal winter, Michigan is finally seeing some reasonable weather. I stepped outside this afternoon and didn’t need three layers and a snowmobile just to check the mail. Progress, I tell you!
Grand Rapids and Lansing both enjoyed fair conditions today, with temperatures climbing into the mid-to-upper fifties. A pleasant 59 degrees here in Grand Rapids, and reports out of Lansing are similar. Feels like a normal spring day, doesn't it? A good normal, not the kind of “normal” where the weather is trying to kill you.
Now, I’m not saying we should get complacent. The youngsters these days are quick to complain about a little rain, but a good thunderstorm is nature's way of cleaning house. And the forecasts do call for some scattered storms tomorrow. Honestly, a little thunder and lightning builds character. These kids need to toughen up!
But for today, let’s savor this. 68 degrees is the high here in Grand Rapids, and a low of 68 tonight! That’s practically balmy. I even saw old Mrs. Gable tending her garden without a coat on. A sure sign spring is here.
The hourly forecast shows clear skies through the evening. A perfect opportunity to get outside, breathe in the fresh air, and maybe even fire up the grill. Don't let the government tell you otherwise! It's a free country, and you deserve a good burger on a nice day.
Let's hope this mild stretch continues. We’ve endured enough grey skies and shivering for one year. A little sunshine is good for the soul, and good for the economy. People are more likely to do things when the weather cooperates, and that’s just plain common sense.
