MR GRUMBLES IS MAD AT THE BUNNY!

Mr. Grumbles and the Never-Ending News

Hi! I'm Jerome Skinly and I write for Jape News! Today I'm telling you about my neighbor, Mr. Grumbles. He's REALLY old. Not like, super-duper old, but older than my mom.

Mr. Grumbles gets REALLY mad at the TV. Every day, it’s the SAME stuff! Like, yesterday there was a story about a fluffy bunny who learned to play the tiny piano. And today? ANOTHER story about the bunny! But it’s a different song!

He yells at the TV. He says, "They just keep SAYING the same thing over and over! Why don't they talk about something NEW?"

I tried to explain it to him. My mom says the news keeps going and going because… well, because things KEEP happening! It's like, if you build a tower with blocks, and then you add MORE blocks, it doesn't stop being a tower, it just gets BIGGER.

I told Mr. Grumbles the news is like that. It's not that they have to talk about the bunny again. They can! But they also talk about other stuff too. Like, today they also talked about a robot dog who helps people find lost socks.

He just shook his head and said, “Back in MY day, the news came ONCE. And that was IT!”

My mom said that's because a long time ago, the news didn't come ALL the time. It came on the TV, or in the paper, just a few times. Now it’s always happening! It's like, if you had ONE cookie, you eat it and it’s gone. But now there's a cookie FACTORY! So there’s always more cookies. And more news!

Mr. Grumbles still doesn’t get it. He keeps yelling at the bunny. But I think it’s kinda funny. He just wants things to stay the same, but the news… it just keeps going.
