Looks Like Rain, So Maybe Stay Inside?

A Chilly Start, A Wet Finish for Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids residents are waking up to a rather brisk morning. It’s currently overcast and 31 degrees, but the 16 mph east wind is making it feel like a frigid 20 degrees out there. Honestly, it’s a little… nippy. I definitely bundled up this morning!

The good news, if you can call it that, is things are expected to change – a lot. While tonight might just bring a 30% chance of some late-night showers, tomorrow looks…well, pretty wet. We’re talking 100% chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, with highs near 67 degrees. They’re saying we could see between half an inch and three-quarters of an inch of rain.

And it doesn't stop there. The rain is supposed to continue into Thursday night, with another quarter to half an inch possible. Then, maybe, maybe a bit of sunshine on Friday. Though there’s still a 30% chance of showers even then.

WZZM13 is reporting a risk of freezing rain up north, and both they and the National Weather Service are warning about possible evening thunderstorms. There's even a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect!

So, yeah. If you have outdoor plans, you might want to…reconsider? Or at least bring a really good umbrella and a jacket. I'm personally hoping it clears up for the weekend. Saturday’s looking a little soggy too, with an 80% chance of more showers.

Stay safe, and stay dry, everyone! And maybe, just maybe, let’s all agree that spring is taking its sweet time arriving.
