Sad Discovery at Local Q-Mart
By Leo Parks, Jape News Staff
Columbia, OK – Authorities are investigating after a woman’s body was discovered in a trash can outside a Q-Mart convenience store on April 11, 2024. Details are still emerging, and police haven’t released the woman’s name yet. It’s… just a really sad situation, honestly.
The discovery has understandably shaken up people in the area. Q-Mart is a pretty busy place, you know, everyone stops there for gas or snacks. It’s just awful to think about something like this happening right in our community.
This isn’t the only tragic case of a body found discarded recently. Just a few months ago, on January 30th, 2026, 49-year-old Spring Weems was found in a trash can in Logan County. That one is particularly heartbreaking. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, or OSBI, has said that Ms. Weems’ adopted son has been arrested in connection with her death, but they’re still waiting for the medical examiner’s report to finalize things.
OSBI stated the investigation into Ms. Weems’ death is ongoing. They haven't made any connections between the two cases, and I’m sure they're working hard to keep everything straight.
It's just… a lot to process, you know? Two women found like this. It’s really upsetting. If anyone has any information about either of these cases, please reach out to the authorities. Every little bit helps, I guess.
