It's Nice Out Today, But Maybe Not For Long?

A Pleasant Day in Grand Rapids – For Now

Good afternoon, folks! Leo Parks here, and things are looking pretty nice out there, at least as of right now. I stepped outside earlier and it was a lovely 60 degrees, felt just about the same, and the sun was shining. Really a perfect fall day, if you ask me.

According to Weather.com, we’re enjoying mostly clear skies at the moment, with a high predicted to hit 81 today. That’s a pretty big jump from this morning, so maybe shed that light jacket sooner rather than later. Humidity is a little high, around 81%, but honestly, it doesn’t feel too bad. The air quality is good, and the grass pollen is low, which is great news for those of us who suffer with allergies. And, good to know, the flu risk is very low right now!

But… don’t get too comfortable. The forecast isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Tomorrow, things are expected to take a turn with thunderstorms predicted. And after that, it’s a bit of a mixed bag – partly cloudy on Thursday, scattered showers on Friday. So enjoy today while it lasts! You can find a detailed 10-day forecast over at Weather.com, if you’re the planning type.

I always like to check the weather before I go anywhere, just to be prepared. Seems like it’s changing so quickly these days! And while I was browsing, I noticed Weather.com claims to be the world’s most accurate forecaster – that’s according to ForecastWatch, from 2021 to 2024, anyway. They have all sorts of things on their website too, like hourly forecasts, radar maps, and even information about allergies and the flu.

Oh, and I saw some posts from Nextdoor linked on the site. Seems like some folks are looking for help with trash removal… you know, typical neighborhood stuff.

Anyway, that’s the weather for today! I hope you all have a pleasant afternoon, and maybe take a few extra minutes to enjoy the sunshine before the storms roll in.
