NATURE'S INCOMPETENCE CONTINUES.

Another Day, Another Atmospheric Assault

Let’s be clear: “weather” is a generous term for what’s currently happening. It’s an assault. A sloppy, predictable assault, but an assault nonetheless. Apparently, Mother Nature skipped subtlety class.

The Plains and Midwest are, predictably, being ravaged by severe thunderstorms and, yes, tornadoes. Honestly, if you live there and haven’t invested in a reinforced shelter, you're simply asking for trouble. Don't come crying to me when your inflatable pool flamingo is swept away.

And for those of you clinging to the delusion that spring means warmth, brace yourselves. A double dose of winter is heading for the Northern US, because why not pile on the misery? Snow. Snow. In April. The sheer audacity.

Here in Grand Rapids, Michigan, we’re getting the “luxury” treatment: a pathetic drizzle this morning escalating into scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. A high of 59°F? Pathetic. And winds from the east-southeast at 10-20 mph? Just enough to ruin a perfectly good bad hair day.

East Grand Rapids is apparently trending towards “severe” thunderstorms, whatever that means. More of the same, I presume. Just bigger raindrops and louder booms.

Heartside, the alleged heart of the city, is experiencing the full spectrum of disappointment: clouds, rain, and the looming threat of electrical storms. Frankly, it’s a fitting metaphor for the general state of things.

So, to recap: chaos in the Midwest, a glacial relapse up north, and a damp, dreary mess here. Don't bother looking for silver linings. This isn’t a gentle spring shower; it's a meteorological mugging. Stay inside, lower your expectations, and accept that today is, unequivocally, a terrible weather day.
