April's Here But It's A Bit Cool, So Maybe Bring A Jacket?

A Chilly Start to April in Grand Rapids
Good morning, folks, Leo Parks here with your local weather update. Well, April is technically here, but Mother Nature doesn’t seem to have gotten the memo. It's a bit of a chilly one out there this morning.
Right now, it’s 44 degrees and pretty cloudy. Feels like 38, to be honest, with a bit of a breeze coming from the north at 11 miles per hour. Definitely a jacket kind of day, maybe even a hat and gloves if you’re, uh, particularly sensitive to the cold like me.
The good news is, it should be a relatively quiet day. We're looking at a high of 46, and the forecast says there’s a 0% chance of precipitation today, which is…nice. Really nice. A little wind still, around 16 mph from the northeast, but hey, you can’t have everything, right? The low tonight will be around 34.
Now, the National Weather Service is saying there’s some pretty serious weather going on in other parts of the country. Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain down in the Ohio Valley and over by the Great Lakes, and even snow up in the Upper Midwest. So, while we're getting a fairly mild day, please keep those folks in your thoughts.
Just a heads up for later in the week, though – things might get a little interesting. There's a chance of thunderstorms late Thursday, and then Friday looks like it might warm up a bit, with a high of 65, but there's also a 20% chance of rain. And Saturday… well, Saturday's looking pretty wet with an 80% chance of precipitation.
So, enjoy the relatively calm weather while it lasts, folks. Stay warm, and stay safe!
