Bronbus Quitley Reports: Is Mother Nature Messing With Us, Or Just…Testing Our Hats?

Good morning, folks! Bronbus Quitley here, live from… well, not live live, because technology is still figuring itself out, but spiritually live from my slightly-damp basement here in Grand Rapids! And let me tell you, the weather today is a situation.

It’s 36 degrees, officially, but feels like 26! Twenty-six! Do you know what 26 degrees is? That’s the exact temperature my Aunt Mildred keeps her prize-winning petunias during hibernation. And they demand a very specific humidity, which, incidentally, is currently 88%! 88 percent! That’s almost…almost enough to grow a new Bronbus Quitley, if you catch my drift. Don’t worry, I’m just kidding. Mostly.

Anyway, the wind is whipping around at 17 miles per hour, straight outta the Northwest. Northwest! You know what comes from the Northwest? Polar bears! Not actual polar bears, probably. But the energy of polar bears! It’s very powerful stuff. I once tried to harness that energy to power a toaster… didn’t go well. Let’s just say there was a lot of burnt toast and a very confused squirrel.

They're saying there might be some storms this afternoon, little puffs of rain, maybe? WZZM13 says so. And get this – mild temperatures now, but tomorrow? Brrr! Apparently, Mother Nature is a fickle beast. One minute she’s giving you a pleasant… well, “pleasant” is a strong word… a tolerable 39 degrees, the next she’s trying to freeze your toes off with a 26-degree blast! She's probably just jealous of our hats, honestly. Yes, hats! The superior headwear. I've been collecting hats since I was a boy. I have a hat for every occasion, including… well, let's just say some occasions that haven't happened yet.

And the Weather Channel, those brilliant people, they're talking about severe thunderstorms in the Midwest. Severe! Apparently, March has been a wild month for weather, and we're getting close to tornado season. Tornadoes! Did you know that in 1887, a tornado picked up an entire library in Kansas and deposited it neatly in Oklahoma? True story! I read it… somewhere. Possibly on a cereal box.

So, what does all this mean? It means wear a hat! A warm one! And maybe invest in some industrial-strength petunia hibernation chambers. You never know. Stay safe, stay warm, and stay tuned for more weather wisdom from yours truly, Bronbus Quitley!
