A Lot Happened This Week, Just Thought You Should Know.

A Week of Remembrance, Reflection, and…Eggs?

Hello everyone, Leo Parks here. It’s been a pretty busy week already, and it’s only going to keep going! I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone about some of the important dates and observances happening right now, just in case you’ve been, well, keeping your head down like me.

This past Sunday, March 30th, was a day for honoring those who served. Wyoming held its Veterans Welcome Home Day, and we also observed Doctors’ Day – a big thank you to all the healthcare professionals out there, honestly we all really appreciate you! Alaska celebrated Seward’s Day, and Delaware and West Virginia took time to remember Vietnam Veterans. It's good to remember and, you know, be thankful.

Then today, March 31st, is International Transgender Day of Visibility. It's really important to, uh, see and support everyone, and acknowledge the transgender community. Also, a lot of states – California, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Michigan, and Washington – are observing César Chávez Day and Arizona is celebrating Farmworkers Day. Recognizing the contributions of farmworkers feels…important.

Now, things get a little…varied. April 1st and 2nd see the start of Passover, a very important holiday, and, uh, April Fool’s Day. So, be careful out there, folks! It's good to be aware of both, you know?

April 2nd is also Maundy Thursday for Christians, and a really important one, alongside World Autism Awareness Day, designated by the UN. Florida also has their Pascua Florida Day, which sounds lovely.

Good Friday is April 3rd, and a state holiday in quite a few places – Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Texas, plus Georgia! So, if you’re in any of those states, you might have the day off.

And then…Easter! It’s on April 5th this year. Hopefully everyone has a nice, relaxing Sunday, maybe with family. The UN also recognizes April 5th as the International Day of Conscience. A lot going on, honestly.

Wrapping things up, April 6th brings International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, Easter Monday for some, and National Tartan Day. Tartan Day…seems fun? Lots of patterns, I guess.

So yeah, that's the week! It’s a lot to keep track of, but I figured a quick reminder might be helpful. Be mindful, be respectful, and…try not to fall for any pranks.
