Michigan Snow Proves Softies Don’t Last

A Chill Reminder of True Michigan

Folks, let me tell you, it’s March 28th and we’re getting snow. Snow in late March. Some folks are wringing their hands and talking about “climate change,” but I say this is just Michigan reminding us who’s boss. A good, honest chill to toughen us up a bit.

Right now, as I look out the window – and nearly frost over just looking – we’ve got a light snow falling, mixed with a bit of mist. Airport reports say it’s 28 degrees, but the wind chill? A brisk 20. Twenty degrees, people! That’s practically Canadian weather. And you know what? There's a certain…character building quality to that.

Now, the weathermen are promising a bit of a reprieve. They say we’ll see some sun tomorrow, pushing up to a relatively balmy 42 degrees. And Monday? Nearly 70! Sounds mighty pleasant, I admit. They're even predicting rain showers by Tuesday.

But let’s not get carried away with these warmer temperatures. It's a fleeting moment, a tease from Mother Nature. We'll be back to sensible weather soon enough. A little snow now reminds us to appreciate the sturdy homes we've built, the warm coats we own, and the importance of being prepared.

This isn’t a disaster, folks. It's just…Michigan. And frankly, I think we need a little bit of real weather to remind us what it means to be resilient. Forget your fancy California sunshine, give me a good Michigan snow any day. It separates the men from the boys, I always say.
