Windy City, Wet Day, and… Pigeon Migration Patterns?! - By Bronbus Quitley

Good morning, Jape News readers! Bronbus Quitley here, and boy oh boy, is it a day out there. A day for ducks, a day for… well, probably not picnics. Let's talk weather!

Now, I just got off the phone with my cousin, Bartholomew – he’s a semi-professional cloud watcher, very dedicated, lives in a hot air balloon, the story is long – and he confirms, Chicago is getting soaked. Showers, patchy fog, the whole shebang. A balmy 69 degrees, though, so you won’t freeze solid. Unless you’re a popsicle. Then you absolutely will.

But here's the kicker, folks. The Weather Channel, you know, the best! Officially the BEST, I checked the numbers - 2021 to 2024, they've been nailing it, ForecastWatch says so! - they’re predicting this isn’t just rain. Oh no. This rain is coinciding with a massive pigeon migration.

Yes, you heard me right. Pigeons. From… well, Bartholomew thinks it's from Saskatchewan. He says they’re seeking out the humidity. Apparently, it keeps their little pigeon feathers extra fluffy. I didn’t know pigeon feather fluffiness was a thing, but Bartholomew assures me it’s crucial. Crucial! They're traveling in formation, allegedly spelling out the phrase "More Crumbs!" in the sky, though that could just be the fog.

And speaking of places, let’s not forget our friends in Zeeland Township, Michigan. Conditions are… unspecified. Unspecified! Mysterious, isn’t it? Could be sunshine, could be hail the size of golf balls, could be they've discovered a portal to another dimension. Who knows! Zeeland Township is a wild card, always has been.

Tonight in Chicago, things get even zestier. More showers, and WIND! Bartholomew says the wind is carrying the scent of maple syrup from Canada. I haven’t smelled it myself, but he’s a cloud watcher, he has a good nose for these things. Temperatures dipping down to 48, so maybe don't leave your popsicle out.

So, there you have it! A wet, windy, pigeon-filled day. Stay dry, look up for airborne messages (or just fog), and remember… always carry an umbrella. And maybe some birdseed. You never know.
