Well… That’s Different: A Look at Wild Car Modifications

Okay, so, uh, cars. Everyone has one, or has been in one, right? And a lot of people like to… personalize them. That’s normal. New paint, maybe some fancy rims. But lately, things have gotten… a little out there.

I was reading about it online – honestly, I just stumbled down a rabbit hole – and people are doing stuff to their cars. Like, really unusual stuff. Apparently, it’s not just about making them look good anymore, it's… well, I’m not sure what it's about, actually.

There was this one VW Beetle, and it had a giant lobster on it. A whole lobster. Not a realistic one, thankfully, but still! And a Dodge Viper? Someone stretched it into a convertible! I don’t even know how that’s structurally sound, but apparently it is.

And Jeeps! People are putting scissor lifts on Jeeps, which… okay, that’s probably useful for something, but it still looks really weird. I saw a picture of a car that was made to look like it was flipped upside down, but it actually drove perfectly fine! That's just… confusing.

It’s not always big changes either. Apparently, some people just cover their cars in toys. Everything! Even the license plate! One person made their license plate out of toy letters. And a Smart car? They put monster truck wheels on it. A Smart car.

There are also a lot of… unnecessarily large spoilers. Like, really big ones. And people are painting their cars to look like all sorts of things – Pikachu, that creature from Alien… it’s a whole thing. I also saw stuff about people building their own roof racks and… putting lawnmower exhausts on their cars?

I even found a video online, from earlier this year, warning people not to go too crazy. Apparently, some modifications can be dangerous, or really expensive. Which, you know, makes sense. I mean, a giant lobster probably isn’t the safest thing on the highway.

Honestly, it’s a little overwhelming. I think I’ll just stick with keeping my car clean. It’s probably best if I just… blend in. But hey, if you’re into making your car look like a giant toy, more power to you. I guess.
