ROBOTS ARE LEARNING LIKE ME!

Robots Are Getting REALLY Smart! - By Jerome Skinly

Hi! I'm Jerome, and I like robots! My dad says robots are getting super smart now, and it's not like in the movies yet, but it's getting closer! He told me all about it, and it's kinda hard to understand, but I'll try to tell you.

So, these robots use something called “AI.” It’s like… giving the robot a brain, but not a real one, a computer one! And the brains are getting WAY better. My dad said they have these things called “Large Language Models” which is a big name, but it just means the robots can understand what you say better. Like, really understand!

They even have robots that can help build stuff now! My dad is an engineer, and he said they used to take a LONG time to test things. Now, these AI helpers make it super fast! Like, a thousand times faster! That means he has more time to play with me! Hooray!

And it’s not just building stuff. They’re helping make things in factories too, making sure everything is good and not broken. It's like having a super helper who never gets tired!

My dad also said something about “agentic AI.” That sounds like a secret agent! He said it's like robots that can think for themselves a little bit, and they can do lots of different things. Not just one thing.

They’re even trying to make robots that can help the Earth! Like, use less power and not make so much garbage. That’s a good robot!

These AI brains are getting better because they get lots and lots of information, and they learn from it. My dad said it's like learning to ride a bike. You fall at first, but then you get better and better!

But my dad also said it’s important to make sure these robots are safe and do what’s right. And people still need to be in charge! It's like, you don’t want the robot to decide everything all by itself. That would be scary!

He said the robot brains are getting bigger and bigger, and learning faster and faster. It’s kinda like how I'm learning to read! It's a lot to learn, but it's pretty cool, and I think robots are going to be amazing someday!
