Bee Carpets: Another Sign of Society's Decline?

A Stingy Investment or a Sweet Home Addition? The Buzz About Bee Carpets
Now, I’ve covered a lot in my time at Jape News – local council meetings, the rising cost of lumber, the frankly disturbing trend of avocado toast – but this one…this one really took me by surprise. Carpets. With bees on them.
That’s right, folks. Apparently, some folks are now choosing to adorn their floors with images of stinging insects. I received a press release – a rather glossy one, I might add – about a company called Moooi Carpets, and their…unique…line of bee-themed rugs.
They've got the “Vibrato Bee Rectangle,” which, if you can believe it, is apparently meant to look “opulent and elegant” with lines resembling “turtle scutes.” Turtle scutes? What does a turtle have to do with anything?! Sounds like a lot of fancy talk to me, and frankly, a bee design on a rug just seems like an invitation for trouble. One wrong step and you’ll feel like you've stepped on a bee. A perfectly good living room, ruined!
And it doesn’t stop there. They have “Techno Bee Round” and “Techno Bee Rectangle” carpets in colours like “shagreen” and “nori.” Nori?! Is this a carpet or a sushi roll? Honestly, it's all a bit much.
Then there’s the “Rug Coccinella Bella.” Sounds Italian, which usually means quality, but still…bees.
Now, I’m not saying people shouldn’t decorate their homes how they like. If you want to fill your house with bee-covered carpets, that’s your prerogative. But I’ll stick with a nice, solid, sensible rug. Something that doesn’t remind me of potential stings and summer allergies.
You can find more information – and I use that term loosely – on their website, if you’re so inclined: https://www.moooicarpets.com/product/vibrato-bee-rectangle/. Just…be careful where you step.
