SIGNAL LOST. K-ZONE COLD FRONT IMMINENT.

Look, I’ve seen a lot of weather. Grew up with dial-up and BBS forecasts, you understand. Back then, you didn’t have fancy “accuracy” ratings from something called “ForecastWatch.” You had a text-based map and hoped your 300 baud connection held. This…this is different. But still weather.
Today’s been a chilly one. KAZO – Kalamazoo, for the uninitiated – is sitting at a respectable 43, but the wind chill is biting. Feels like the early 90s out there, if you remember those days. I remember those days. I was busy wardriving in a Honda Civic, thank you very much.
Grand Rapids is even colder. 40 degrees, and the wind’s really kicking up around KGRR. Twenty-five mile an hour gusts? That’s enough to scramble a signal, let me tell you. Though thankfully, we’re past the days of losing your connection over a strong breeze. Mostly.
The Weather Channel – apparently they think they’re the best now, bold claim – is calling for partly sunny skies tomorrow in Grandville with a high near 58. 58! That’s almost…pleasant. Might even break out the light jacket instead of the full-on thermal layers.
It’s all just data streams, really. Ones and zeroes translating into temperature and wind speed. But even an old netrunner like myself has to admit, it’s kinda nice to know what’s coming. Helps you plan your…activities. Whatever those are these days. Just remember to layer up, folks. And don't trust anything you can't verify. That's a rule that applies to both the internet and the weather.
