Nature’s Fury: Are We Being Punished for Our Sins?
Folks, I’ve been watching the weather reports, and frankly, it’s downright Biblical out there. Not just a little rain and wind, no. We're talking severe thunderstorms, potential flooding stretching all the way from Texas up to…well, right here in Michigan. They’re even predicting a “wintry mix” up in the Great Lakes region. In March!
Now, I'm no scientist, but I remember a simpler time, when a storm was just a storm. Now everything has to be about “climate change” and blaming man for the hand of God. But I ask you, has anyone considered that maybe, just maybe, this isn’t some random act of nature? Maybe this is a sign. A warning.
The weather service is saying over 50 million people are at risk of tornadoes. Fifty million! And it’s not just a few twisters either, they’ve already had two dozen tear through Texas and the Midwest. Two dozen! That’s a lot of destruction. A lot of livelihoods uprooted.
They're forecasting cloudy skies and winds gusting up to 25 mph in Chicago tonight, and a low of 35 degrees. Thirty-five degrees! That's practically an ice age for those folks.
I’m not saying we need to start building arks, but perhaps a little humility and a return to traditional values wouldn’t hurt. We’ve strayed far from the path, folks. Far too far. It's time we started looking upwards and asking ourselves if we’ve earned the blessings of a calm and peaceful spring.
Stay safe out there, and remember to keep a weather radio handy. And maybe, just maybe, spend a little time in prayer.
