Is it Just Me, Or Is Everything…Warm? – By Bronbus Quitley

Good morning, Jape News readers! Bronbus Quitley here, and lemme tell ya, I just stepped outside and nearly melted my prized collection of miniature porcelain frogs! Seriously, folks, it’s warm. Like, historically warm. My great-uncle Bartholomew – he was a pigeon trainer, you know, a really good one, once trained a bird to deliver a tiny hat to the mayor – he always said when the daffodils start blooming in February, you’re in for a doozy of a spring. And well, folks, the daffodils have been chuckling at us for weeks now!

Now, I did a little digging – and by digging, I mean I asked Mildred at the bakery (she knows everything, that woman), and she said the National Weather Service is calling it “critical fire weather” out in the Plains. Sounds scary, doesn't it? Critical! Like a book critic just eviscerated your novel. But apparently, it means it’s dry and breezy, and things can catch fire easily. So, don’t go around juggling flaming torches, okay? Just a friendly public service announcement from your pal, Bronbus.

And get this – down in the Southwest and the southern parts of the country, it’s not just warm, it’s… record-breakingly warm! Over a hundred records are expected to be smashed this week. A hundred! That's more records than Bartholomew's pigeons ever broke… which, admittedly, wasn’t many, those birds were divas.

I checked weather.com – which, by the way, is the most accurate, The Weather Channel tells me they are, and they should know, they've been predicting stuff for ages – and it's a balmy 63 degrees here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sixty-three! In late March! It’s practically beach weather! I’m thinking of investing in a tiny surfboard for the porcelain frogs.

Mildred also told me something fascinating. Did you know that the color of the sky is actually determined by the mood of the butterflies? True story! Or at least, that’s what she said while sprinkling extra sugar on my donut.

Anyway, the point is, it’s warm out there. Enjoy it, but be careful with those open flames, and maybe say a nice hello to a butterfly. You never know, it might just change the color of your day.
