COLD WIND SNOW TORNADOES GRANDMA IS WARM!

Brrr! And Maybe Tornadoes?! – By Jerome Skinly

Hi! I’m Jerome and today it’s REALLY cold. Like, REALLY REALLY cold. My mom said it’s thirty degrees! That’s like, way below freezing! I could see my breath when I walked to the bus stop. And the wind was blowing my hat almost off! It was coming from the North and it was going thirteen miles per hour, which is FAST. My mom said that made it feel like twenty degrees, which is EVEN colder! She called it “wind chill.”

It’s kinda cloudy and gray outside right now. But the TV said it might get sunny later, and even get to forty degrees! That's still cold enough for a jacket, but not super cold.

But here's the weirdest part. The TV also said there might be snow tonight! After it gets a little warmer? That's silly!

And… and this is the SCARIEST part… they said it’s almost tornado season! Tornadoes are super scary and spinny and they can blow houses away! They said it’s gonna be the peak of tornado season. I hope we don't get one!

But down South, where Grandma lives, it’s supposed to be REALLY warm. Like, record warm! That’s weird too. So it’s cold here and warm there?

I hope the sun comes out and no tornadoes come to Grand Rapids. I want to go play in the snow… if it snows!
