Some People Are Really… Doing Things To Their Cars, Huh?

Well… That’s Different: A Look at Some Truly Unique Car Modifications

It’s always been a thing, hasn’t it? Making your car you. A fresh coat of paint, maybe some new rims. But lately… well, lately things have gotten a little… unusual. I was just scrolling through the net, and honestly, I needed to sit down.

Apparently, people are doing all sorts of things to their vehicles. Like, really all sorts. I saw a picture of a VW Beetle completely covered to look like a giant lobster. A lobster! I mean, it was… striking. And then there was a Dodge Viper that someone turned into a stretch convertible. A stretch convertible. I don’t even know how that’s structurally sound.

It's not just big changes either. A lot of folks seem to be into just… adding things. I saw a Jeep with a full-on scissor lift attached. A SCISSOR LIFT. For… what exactly? I’m not sure I want to know. And it's not just practical things, either. Some people are flipping their cars upside down, just to look like they’re upside down. It's... an optical illusion, I guess?

There are also a surprising number of cars just absolutely covered in toys. Or, uh, let’s just say decorations. I think I saw a cartoon sticker of someone… well, I won’t get into it. Let’s just say it involved urination. And exhaust stacks! Just sticking exhaust stacks on for, I guess, the aesthetic?

And the smaller stuff! Fake eyelashes? Fake hood scoops? Gigantic spoilers? Stick-on vents? It's a whole world of add-ons. And then there was a Smart car with monster truck wheels. A Smart car!

Honestly, I’m a pretty simple guy. I like things… normal. But I guess if it makes people happy. It's their car, right? I just… I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to do any of this myself. I’d probably just stick with a nice, sensible color. Maybe.
