A Week of Remembrance, Reflection, and…Eggs? - Ape News Update

Greetings, fellow primates! H.R. Rambe here, bringing you the latest from Ape News. It’s 2026, and a rather packed week is unfolding before us. From solemn observances to days for a bit of lighthearted fun, there's a lot happening. Let’s swing right into it!

Yesterday, March 30th, saw Wyoming honoring its veterans, while medical professionals were celebrated on Doctors’ Day. Alaska remembered William Seward, and Delaware and West Virginia paid tribute to Vietnam veterans. A lot of important recognition happening all around.

Today, March 31st, is International Transgender Day of Visibility, a vital day for recognition and support. We also observe César Chávez Day in California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas – and with observance in Michigan and Washington – a day honoring a champion of farmworkers. Speaking of farmworkers, Arizona officially celebrates them today as well.

Now, things get interesting. April 1st is upon us, meaning Passover Eve begins for our Jewish friends, and…April Fool’s Day! Be wary of suspiciously placed bananas, folks. You’ve been warned.

April 2nd is a busy one. We have Maundy Thursday and the first day of Passover. The United Nations also shines a light on World Autism Awareness Day, and Florida locals celebrate Pascua Florida Day. A lot happening on that day!

Then comes April 3rd, Good Friday, a state holiday in quite a few places – Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Texas… and Georgia too!

April 4th is Holy Saturday, a day for quiet reflection, alongside the sobering observance of the United Nations’ Mine Awareness Day.

Finally, on April 5th, we’ll see the International Day of Conscience, followed by the joyous celebration of Easter Sunday for our Christian community.

So there you have it! A week filled with remembrance, religious observance, awareness, and maybe a prank or two. Keep your eyes peeled, your hearts open, and stay tuned to Ape News for more updates!
