Hi! I’m Jerome and I try to understand grown-up stuff so I can tell you about it. My mom says lots of stuff is happening with money right now, so I listened to the news (with her help!) and here's what I found out.

First, the government is kinda closed? It's like when school is closed but for grown-ups and their jobs. Some people might not get paid, and that's not good. My mom said it's complicated, but it means things are a little wobbly.

And… wood is getting expensive! President Trump wants to charge more money for wood and stuff made from wood, like tables and kitchen things. That means building a house might cost MORE money. That's bad because houses are already super expensive! My dad is building a birdhouse and he's worried now.

There's this car company called Tesla. They make electric cars. Lots of people bought their cars because the government was giving them money off. But the money off stopped now, so fewer people might buy them. It's like when your allowance ends!

Also, a big company called JPMorgan Chase bought a little company, but the lady who started the little company did something wrong. She said she had MORE customers than she really did. That’s like saying you have ten cookies when you only have two! She got in trouble. My mom said it's important to tell the truth.

There's a NEW company starting up! It's called Periodic Labs, and it's using computers to help scientists figure out secrets about, like, rocks and stars! It's kinda like a super-powered magnifying glass for smart people! Lots of really smart people are leaving other companies to work there.

Oh! And some people on a cruise ship got sick with a tummy bug. That's yucky!

And… grown-ups are worried about what President Trump is doing with the people who make decisions about money (the Federal Reserve). My mom said it’s about being fair and not bossing people around. It’s a bit confusing.

Finally, some bad people are putting fake stuff on Facebook to trick people! Like pretend ads and stuff. My mom says you always have to ask a grown-up before clicking on anything!

So yeah, lots of stuff is happening with money. It sounds kinda scary, but my mom says grown-ups are trying to fix it. I’m going to go build my LEGO castle now!
