COMPUTERS ARE GETTING SUPER FAST AND PRETTY!

Hi! I’m Jerome and I like video games! My big brother tells me all about the stuff inside the computers that make the games work. It’s REALLY complicated, but I’m gonna try and tell you about it!

So, lots of things are happening with computers right now. Like, REALLY fast things! AMD and Intel are making new brains for computers – they call them processors. The AMD one is called “Medusa Point” and it doesn’t use too much power, which is good. Intel is getting a LOT of money from the government to build even MORE brains! They're gonna have, like, a MILLION things inside them! Okay, maybe not a million, but 288 cores! That’s a LOT!

And the pictures! The picture makers! Those are called graphics cards. NVIDIA is making some new ones too. They're called Blackwell and they make the games look SO real. My brother showed me a picture and it was like looking through a window! They also made a super chip for computers that help robots! Robots are cool!

But… something kinda scary happened. A graphics card EXPLODED! It was a PNY RTX 5090, and it had a bad part inside. My brother said you always have to be careful with electricity. That sounds right.

They’re also making new ways to make the games look better with something called DLSS. It's like a magic trick to make the pictures smoother. And someone figured out how to use a different magic trick (FSR) instead! Pretty sneaky!

And get this – they're making faster ways to store the games! It’s called PCIe Gen6 and it's SO fast, it’s like downloading a whole game in ONE second!

They even showed off some new computer cases and coolers. Coolers keep the computer from getting too hot when you play for a long time. Some of the coolers even have places to add more water! Neat!

My brother also told me about some games that are getting better. They fixed stuff in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Cyberpunk 2.0 to make them run smoother. Baldur’s Gate 3 is also getting some love!

Oh, and AMD might make a new graphics card called the RX 9070 GRE soon. My brother says that means more games will look even BETTER!

It’s all really complicated, but basically, computers are getting faster and the games are getting prettier. That means more fun for everyone! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
