Stuff is Happening With Money! (By Jerome Skinly, Age 7)

Hi! I'm Jerome and I’m a reporter for Jape News! My mom says lots of stuff is happening with money right now, so I’m gonna tell you about it. It’s kinda complicated, but I'll try my best!

So, the stock market is going UP! Like, way up! My dad said it’s hitting “record highs,” which means it’s higher than it’s ever been before. Even though the government is…closed? It’s like when school is closed, but for grown-ups and important papers. But everyone is still buying stocks!

My dad also said something called “AI” is making the stock market go up. AI is like a super smart computer. It's kinda scary, he says, because some people think it might be TOO good and everything will get expensive! Like if everyone wants a toy, but there aren’t enough, then the price goes WAY up!

China is being… tricky. They have special rocks and stuff called “rare earths” and they're not letting us have as much anymore. Those rocks are important for making computers and phones and…stuff! So that’s making people worried. It’s like if I didn’t share my LEGOs, everyone would be sad! And there's also stuff about… tariffs? My mom said it’s like a tax on things from other countries.

Lots of companies are using AI too! Even Taylor Swift is doing super well with her…businesses! My sister likes Taylor Swift. Apparently, she’s good at making money and songs!

Tesla is making new cars, and Apple is in trouble because of a lawsuit. A lawsuit is when people are mad at each other and take it to a judge! And Apple has an app that lets people track other people, which sounds kinda spooky.

Gold is SUPER expensive now! Like, $4,000 for a little bit! My grandma has a gold necklace, I wonder if she knows!

There's also this thing called “Sora” which is made by the AI people. It can make videos! My mom showed me one and it looked real, but it wasn’t! It was just a computer making it up!

It's a lot to keep up with, even for grown-ups! But that's what's happening with money right now. I’m gonna go play with my dinosaurs now. Bye!
