Is it Spring? Is it Winter? Honestly, Who Even KNOWS Anymore?! - By Bronbus Quitley

Good morning, Jape News readers! Or, well, good whatever time of day it is when you're reading this. Time is a construct, you know. Like weather forecasts! Speaking of which… what IN the world is going on outside?!

I just stepped out to get my morning dandelion tea (it's a family recipe, passed down from my great-great-uncle Bartholomew who, legend has it, once arm-wrestled a badger), and let me tell you, it was…confusing. One minute, I swear, I felt a little sunbeam! A genuine, honest-to-goodness sunbeam! Then WHAMMO, a flurry of…well, I think it was snow? Or maybe really enthusiastic hail? It’s hard to tell.

They’re saying Grand Rapids is supposed to be getting showers. Showers! That means water falling from the sky, folks. Revolutionary, I know. But down at the airport – and I have a very reliable source, my neighbor Mildred's parrot, Polly, who overhears the pilots – it's a frigid 31 degrees! Thirty-one! That’s colder than my ex-wife’s heart, and that’s saying something.

Apparently, a big ol’ storm is swirling around up north, bringing all sorts of wacky weather shenanigans. They’re calling it a “late-season winter storm.” Late-season? Please. Winter overstayed its welcome months ago. Honestly, I think winter’s just trying to get a free vacation in April. Rude!

And get this – the South is getting thunderstorms! Thunderstorms! Meanwhile, we're having a blizzard-rain-sunbeam cocktail hour. It's like Mother Nature couldn’t decide what she wanted for breakfast and just threw everything at the map.

I read somewhere – I think it was on a very official-looking website, maybe hosted on a toaster – that these weather patterns are all caused by rogue squirrels messing with the jet stream. They’re building tiny little dams out of acorns, apparently. It’s a whole operation. Don’t look into it too closely, though, it's classified.

So, what should you do today? Well, I recommend wearing everything you own. Seriously. Sandals, snow boots, a Hawaiian shirt, that weird hat Aunt Gertrude knitted you… layer up, people! And maybe, just maybe, start building an ark. You know, just in case.

Stay warm (or cool? or wet? or…who knows!) and remember to tip your local weather squirrel.
