Ape News Flash: Fortnite’s Wild Ride – New Modes, Old Modes Gone, and Shiny New Consoles!
By H.R. Rambe, Ape News Correspondent
Greetings, fellow apes! H.R. Rambe here, bringing you the latest from the vibrant, sometimes baffling, world of Fortnite. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster for players lately, with Epic Games seemingly swinging between innovation and… well, letting go.
Ape News sources (and a whole lot of data-mining, frankly – these humans and their digital digging!) reveal Epic is cooking up seven new game modes. Seven! We’re talking “WickedSmoke,” a social hangout reminiscent of the popular Delulu mode. “UnableRoman” promises good old-fashioned team deathmatch mayhem. And get this: two Lego-themed modes, “Rivalry” and “CurioBox,” complete with mechs and social role-playing! There’s even whispers of “MatchMist” being a fresh map for the Reload experience, “BabyCorgi” linked to Fortnite Ballistic, and a Disney-themed mode called “Bulldog and Husky.”
Sounds bananas, right?
But here’s the banana peel: just this past April 6th, Epic shut down three modes – Ballistic, Rocket Racing, and Festival Battle Stage. Rocket Racing has a slightly longer stay, closing in October, but still, a lot of content vanished. One dedicated human YouTuber even offered to buy the Ballistic mode to keep it alive, a truly generous gesture, but Epic wasn’t budging. A shame, honestly. A shame.
It's a strange strategy, isn’t it? Layoffs at Epic, followed by a flurry of new mode development while simultaneously axing existing ones. Makes an ape wonder what’s going on behind the scenes!
And speaking of visuals… Ape News has also learned that the next generation of gaming is nearly upon us! Apparently, a PlayStation 6 is on the horizon, and it's promising to deliver a stunning 4K experience at 120 frames per second. They’re also claiming 6-12 times the ray tracing power of the current PlayStation 5. Imagine Fortnite looking that good!
So, there you have it, fellow apes. New modes incoming, old modes gone, and a new console promising to make everything look prettier. Stay tuned to Ape News for more updates as we continue to navigate this ever-changing digital jungle!
