Squirrel Helpers on the Computer!
Hi! I’m Jerome Skinly and I write for Jape News. Today I learned about… squirrels! And people are trying to help them!
My mom showed me something on the computer called YouTube. It’s like TV but you pick what to watch. And there’s a thing called the “Save the Squirrels Initiative.” It's a whole bunch of videos! Like, eighteen videos! That’s a LOT.
And guess what?! Lots and lots of people have watched them. Like, over two million! That's more than all the kids in my town, I think.
The videos are about… well, squirrels. They show how people are trying to make sure the squirrels are okay. One video is about catching the squirrels, but not to hurt them! They catch them and then move them to a new place where they can find more nuts and stuff. It's called “Trapping and Relocating Squirrels - An Examination.” It sounds super important.
My mom said sometimes squirrels get into places they shouldn't, like people's attics. And the people in the videos are trying to help both the squirrels and the people! It's good to be nice to squirrels, because they’re cute and they bury nuts and that helps grow trees!
So if you wanna see what people are doing to help the squirrels, you can look it up on YouTube. It’s called the “Save the Squirrels Initiative.” It’s pretty cool!
