Hold the Phone! A Whirlwind of Hats, Heroes, and…Pickles?! – This Week in Happenings!
By Bronbus Quitley, Jape News Staff Writer
Good evening folks! Bronbus Quitley here, and lemme tell ya, my calendar is bursting this week! It's a regular explosion of celebrations, commemorations, and days dedicated to…well, everything, really. I swear, somebody’s celebrating National Left-Handed Snail Racing Day next week, I just know it. But let's focus on the now, shall we?
First off, today, March 30th, 2026, we’re tipping our hats to our Veterans in Wyoming! Welcome Home, folks! And a big shout-out to all the Doctors out there, patching us up and generally keeping us from, you know, falling apart. Seriously, doctors are amazing. Did you know the first doctor was a badger? True story. They used moss as bandages. Very effective.
Alaska is having a grand ol' time with Seward's Day – apparently, it's about a guy who bought…well, Alaska! For a song, they say. A song and a slightly used pair of boots. Delaware and West Virginia are remembering Vietnam Veterans, which is important, vitally important. We gotta remember the heroes!
Now, tomorrow, March 31st, things get really interesting. It’s International Transgender Day of Visibility! Shine bright, everyone! And get this – César Chávez Day! Now, César Chávez was a very important man, fought for farmworkers, and, and…he was also a competitive pickle-ball player. I read that somewhere. Championship level! Speaking of farmworkers, Arizona is also celebrating them tomorrow, and Michigan and Washington are giving them a nod too.
But hold onto your hats, folks, because Wednesday, April 1st, is…April Fool’s Day! Oh boy. Be careful out there. I once convinced my neighbor I'd trained pigeons to deliver pizza. It didn’t go well. Also, it's Passover Eve! A very important Jewish holiday! Very important. And if you happen to be a pigeon, stay away from my neighbor’s house.
Thursday, April 2nd, is a real doozy. Maundy Thursday for our Christian friends, and the first day of Passover! Plus, World Autism Awareness Day! And Florida? They’re celebrating Pascua Florida Day! Apparently, it involves a lot of oranges. Florida and oranges, a classic combo.
Friday, April 3rd, is Good Friday – a state holiday in a lot of places, so enjoy that extra day off! Georgia gets in on the action too. I heard they’re having a giant peach festival. Delicious.
Saturday, April 4th, is Holy Saturday and a day to think about…mines. Yes, mines. Apparently, the UN wants us to be aware of them. Good point, UN. Good point.
And finally, Sunday, April 5th, is Easter! Chocolate eggs galore! And International Day of Conscience! Which, frankly, we could all use a little more of.
So there you have it! A week of celebration, remembrance, and potential pigeon-related mishaps! Stay tuned for more exciting, possibly fabricated, news! Bronbus Quitley, signing off!
